Dear valued aromatherapists and friends, welcome to Seoul Aromatherapy Institute’s (SAI) website. Our institute is headquartered in Seoul, South Korea

SAI provides international aromatherapy certification programs from France, England, and the US. Currently, international aromatherapy is divided into two major streams from France and the US. Aromatherapy in France is based on scientific and medical approaches, and French practitioners are mainly composed of healthcare professionals such as pharmacists and doctors. In the US & UK aromatherapy focuses on the theraputic aspects: aromatic massage, psychological care and the safe use of aromatherapy. However, reckless use and abuse of essential oils is a common global problem.

Recently, French doctors, pharmacists, and aromatherapists gathered to warn against reckless use of essential oils (including oral intake of essential oils), and agreed on 'Scientific Aromatherapy: Clinical Trials, Education and Research Recommendations, Experts' Agreement for Medical Professionals and Decision Makers Working in a Medical Environment' (Aromathérapie Scientifique : Préconisations pour la pratique clinique, l'enseignement et la recherche Consensus d'experts destiné aux professionnels de santé et aux décideurs exerçqnt en milieux desoins(hospitalier ou médico-social), Argumentaire version longue, 2018) hospitalier ou médico-social version).

This Agreement clearly sets out the quality, production and safe use of essential oils. SAI’s program is based on the principles of this Agreement. In SAI, experts from various fields, such as aromatherapy, psychology, counselling and veterinary, gather to provide more scientific, accurate, and up-to-date information on aromatherapy theory and DIY education.

Aromatherapy is a field that takes care of both physical and mental health of a human being, thus using essential oils in a safe and healthy way is of great importance. SAI sincerely hopes that a healthy aromatherapy culture will be established in Korea. We will try our best to achieve this goal.
